Campus Recreation and Unions Youth Programs May Be the Summer Job for You!

Campus Recreation and Unions Youth Programs is hiring counselors for the upcoming summer season (Monday-Friday, June 17-August 16). Being a member of the Youth Programs team will enhance your leadership ability, develop your personal skills, and provide a sense of community; all while creating a fun atmosphere for both you and our community’s youth. Youth Programs is hiring day camp counselors and instructors for all of the following areas: swim lessons, band, theater, dance, craft, cooking, and general recreation.

Upon selection, staff must enroll and successfully complete the “Program Staff Training Course” (Education 198) in Spring Quarter. Through this unique internship training program, hired staff will gain valuable skills including program planning, professionalism, risk management and leadership while increasing their knowledge of youth development, the learning environment, and how the natural environment can enhance everyone’s ability to learn. These skills can be utilized in camp programs as well as in any job working with youth. The internship training must be successfully completed in order to work during summer camp. The training course (Education 198) dates and times will be announced on the job application.
