Why have your kids spend spring break at home when they can be exploring all that UC Davis Campus Recreation and Unions has to offer? This year Boredom Busters is offering a combination of bowling for our half day camp and then blasting off with rockets for our full day campers.

HALF DAY campers will learn the basics of bowling and participate in friendly competitions throughout the week. We emphasize individualized instruction throughout the week. After an introduction to footwork, swing, grip, finishing position, etiquette, and learning to score by hand, campers will be bowling in no time. They will also get a chance to show off trick shots and more!

FULL DAY campers will enjoy our bowling extravaganza as well as hands on rocket building. Whether you will be a future engineer or just think rockets are cool, this is the camp for you. In this camp we will learn how to build water bottle rockets, as well as Estes rocket. We emphasize team building, math, science and physics for all ages. Not only does Boredom Busters provide a fun, active, and educational experience for kids to fill their spring break, but it also keep them excited about learning.

UC Davis Campus Recreation and Unions and the City of Davis Community Services Department will be hosting the 7th Annual Children’s Summer Activities Faire on Saturday, March 9th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Davis Farmer’s Market. Spring Swim Lessons

Learn to swim at the Rec Pool. During the spring and summer, we offer group swimming lessons. Due to the many skills required at each new level, it is not uncommon for children to repeat a class. If you are unsure of your child’s swimming level, please stop by the Rec Pool during rec swim to have your child evaluated by a manager. We will try to accommodate additional classes based on demand and available pool space. However, this means we reserve the right to cancel or combine classes with fewer than three participants. After taking a class, if your child advances to the next level please be sure to notify the Youth Programs Administrative Office on the last day of the lesson so we can move them, based on availability, into that new level.

A $58/B $62

Date/Time: April 29-May 23, 6:10–6:45 p.m.

Classes are four weeks long, on a Monday/Wednesday schedule or a Tuesday/Thursday schedule, and last 35 minutes. Registration begins March 13th at noon.

For more information on summer camps, please review the Summer Camps & Classes page. Updated information for Summer 2013 will be available in January.
