The 25-acre Equestrian Center operates an extensive year-round English and western riding program, horse boarding facilities, and features a 45,000-square-foot indoor riding arena, four barns, and several pastures. Whether you’re brand-new to the sport or an experienced rider, you’ll gain skills and confidence under the direction of our professionally trained staff.
Stalls Available for Fall 2014
The Equestrian Center still has a few available stall spaces for Fall 2014. Take advantage of our convenient on-campus location and ride on any or all of the equestrian teams that call the EQC home. We boast many riding spaces, including a grass derby field and surrounding hilly galloping track, a supersized covered arena, regulation dressage court, two additional outdoor arenas, and several turnouts. The facility is fully staffed with four resident barn supervisors for 24/7 care. Stall board included daily cleaning and twice daily feedings of grass and/or alfalfa hay. Muriel B. Gill Fee Waiver Program
The Equestrian Center is excited to offer a new fee waiver program for students interested in group lessons for the upcoming school year. Made possible by a generous gift from the Gill family, current UC Davis students can apply for a fee waiver to allow them to enroll in group lessons at half the usual cost. The application period for Fall Quarter Lessons is now closed. The link will re-open for Winter Quarter registration in October.
Fall Quarter Lessons Open for Registration August 25
Fall Quarter lessons will open for enrollment online through myrecreation.ucdavis.edu on August 25. Session 1 runs from October 13 through November 9. Session 2 will run from November 10 through December 14. Please note there are no group lessons the week of Thanksgiving (November 24–30). Lessons will resume December 1. Fall is a great time to get involved in a new activity at the Equestrian Center; students can also take advantage of the new fee waiver program (see above).
Guardian Angel Training
The Guardian Angel training series will run concurrently with each lesson session. The training series is required for all individuals wishing to participate in the Guardian Angel program at the Equestrian Center. Important aspects of horse care, horse behavior, and safety will be covered. Upon completion of the training series, participants will be assigned a horse and be ready to enjoy being a Guardian Angel! Please contact the Main Office with any questions at 530-752-2372 or at email@example.com.
